If you drive CR 141 you may have noticed pipe being laid at CR 125 & CR 141 intersection. You can begin to expect delays on CR 141 for 3 weeks or so. There is a fiber optic cable running in the same path as the pipe so a lot of extra time is needed to find it as they dig. Once the 3000 feet of pipe is installed all pipe will have been installed for the Raw water project. In the upcoming weeks, the construction crew will be further concentrating on a list of items to finish this Phase.
The board is working hard to finish up the last few items on the Letter of Conditons for USDA funds. Letter of Conditons should be done by end of December. In January or February we hope to be going to bid for this phase of the project. Stay tuned as we move forward.
Keeping you informed of when the traffic delays will occur is becoming a moving target. Construction does that. It is looking more like the week of the 23rd or later. They need to get the two ends that will meet up with the CR 141 section done first. We have asked the contractor to put up signs a few days before to give you a heads up. The length of time to complete this section depends on many things so it could take anywhere between 7 to 25 day.
Update on 16″ pipe being installed along CR 141. It didn’t happen as we first thought but now is expected to happen either the week of the 16th or week of the 23rd. Expect one lane traffic for a week or so. Other things became a bigger priority.
The board is still working to get all parts of the USDA Letter of Conditions completed. Easements are still an issue. If you have a pipe going across your property please be sure and get us your easement. Using your easement instead of a County Right of Way will save about $1 per foot in installation costs. A dollar may not sound like much but when you consider 190,000 feet of pipe that would be a $190,000 savings to all of us as subscribers. It should also be noted that there will be much less impact to traffic on the county roads if we can use private easements, as the flagging and traffic control requirements will be much lower than if we have to use County Road rights of way. Please call (970) 403-5790 if you have any questions regarding easements.
